Sweepolet
Sweepolet is a contoured, integrally reinforced butt-weld branch fitting with a swept profile for low stress intensification and long fatigue life. Stocked and supplied by SJS Enersol.
- Carbon steel – ASTM A105
- Low-temperature carbon steel – ASTM A350 LF2
- Alloy steel – ASTM A182 F11 / F22
- Stainless steel – ASTM A182 F304 / F304L / F316 / F316L
- Other grades subject to availability
- High-cycle and fatigue-sensitive piping
- Erosive or high-velocity lines where flow turbulence at the branch must be limited
- Critical process lines that require fully examinable branch welds
- Oil and gas, petrochemical and power plant branch connections
A Sweepolet is a contoured, integrally reinforced butt-weld branch connection with a gradually swept (radiused) profile. The smooth transition from header to branch gives a low stress intensification factor, helping to deliver long fatigue life, while guiding the flow with less turbulence, lower pressure drop and reduced erosion at the branch entry. The attachment welds can be examined by radiography, ultrasonic and other standard non-destructive techniques.
SJS Enersol – Stockist & Supplier of Sweepolets
SJS Enersol stocks and supplies Sweepolets for piping where a standard Weldolet’s abrupt 90° turn is not ideal. They are a preferred option for high-cycle, erosive or otherwise critical service.
