Sockolet
Sockolet is a forged socket-weld branch outlet for small-bore connections, welded to the run pipe with the branch pipe fillet-welded into the socket. Class 3000 and 6000.
- Carbon steel – ASTM A105
- Low-temperature carbon steel – ASTM A350 LF2
- Stainless steel – ASTM A182 F304 / F304L / F316 / F316L
- Other grades subject to availability
- Small-bore branch connections, typically NPS 2 and below
- Instrument, drain and vent connections on high-pressure lines
- Water, fire protection and process piping
- Tight layouts where a socket joint is easier to fabricate than a butt weld
A Sockolet (socket weld outlet) is a forged, integrally reinforced branch fitting welded to the run pipe to create a 90° branch with a socket-weld outlet. The branch pipe is inserted into the socket and joined with a fillet weld, which simplifies alignment and fit-up. Socket dimensions follow ASME B16.11, with design to MSS SP-97, making it a strong, leak-proof choice for small-bore, high-pressure branches.
SJS Enersol – Stockist & Supplier of Sockolets
SJS Enersol stocks and supplies Sockolets in full-size (size-on-size) and reducing versions for contractors and fabricators. The compact socket joint is easier to fabricate than a butt weld in tight spaces.
